New UGA admissions blog post about how our office looks at your major in the our review, https://t.co/iIESLRI6Xu. "Whatever major you select, we want to make sure you are prepared for the coursework ahead. But again, we do not limit the size of our admitted group by major."

After my daughter enrolled as a UGA freshman several years ago, my wife joined several social media groups for UGA parents. She was more of an observer/reader than an active participant, as she knew...

3) Make sure to thank the teachers/counselors/others who helped get you to today. 4) Parents, let you students know you love them no matter the admission decision. 5) Celebrate the offers of admission, and don't dwell on the denials. Good luck out there everyone!

A few notes to students/parents as decisions go out at UGA & several other colleges today. 1) Remember, an admission decision is not judgement on your worth as a person, it's just an admissions decision. 2) Find the college that fits you best, not the one that "looks" the best.

FYI, New UGA Admissions blog post is up, https://t.co/c0Rqb9D7ON. UGA has a firm fall freshman enrollment number of 6,200 students. As such, we will need to be cautious with final offers and we expect to use the Wait List to get to that 6,200 number so we don't over-enroll.

This has been the year of weddings for me. My son got married in November down in Florida, and we will be attending four weddings in the next 3 months. I even had to go buy an additional suit so I...

Watching a show called Elsbeth and a Director of Admissions is killed when a student is not admitted. Thanks CBS for adding a little more stress to my day.

New UGA blog post on Summer/Fall 2025 Transfer applicants and the review process, https://t.co/AXa1HACsOp. Big takeaway from post, UGA will continue to enroll 1 transfer for every 2 freshmen, but we want to focus on undergrad enrollment numbers to ensure great student experience.

Sometimes I feel pretty smart, and then my IT team leader asks our group "does anyone know how to liquid loop with data from a replicate block in a form", and I know with certainty where I actually stand.

Every year, there is confusion in college admissions over admitted vs enrolling students. UGA plans to enroll a class of 6,200 freshman, but not all admits will enroll. Roughly 55% of in-state admits enroll, & maybe 18% of OOS admits enroll. Great students, lots of options.

Had to ban a person on the admissions blog today. Only rule I have is don’t insult other people (other students, parents or the admissions staff). Not a difficult rule, but emotions run high the days after decisions go out. Everyone be kind out there.
