Since AI agents got released my inbox spam levels have gone off the charts. Also, numerous ones citing that ‘Julie’ told them I might need their help on xyz and do I want to schedule a chat. I have no idea who Julie is. Who is this Julie all you AI agent spammers speak of.

Very cool developments to essentially create an offline internet, wiry Bitchat and Bitle carving the path.

Imagine a world where power cuts are frequent, where data is down, or too expensive, and yet everyone has a phone. Creating a way for people to communicate is just part of what @jack has done with Bitchat. But offline instant access to information, money, news, imagine that.

Bitchat is FAST. Using it in London, stood next to one of the people online and messages appear instantly on your app and within a split second for others. Compare that with social media where it’s always a few seconds. @jack has figured out how to make social media instant again

Loving Bitchat so far. Feels like OG Twitter meets WhatsApp meets Reddit. Dorsey’s new experiment leans into social media culture: it works offline, disappearing content, anonymous users, no tracking, panic mode, etc etc. Good or bad idea? I look forward to finding out!

You know what Gen Z is fanatical about - checking the UV. Another app built over a weekend by @Jack. LOVE the simplicity of it am already hooked. It's hard to find in the UK app store and I expect other countries, so here's a link.

There are concerns about whether Bitchat being offline and encrypted will promote inappropriate user behaviour, but the proof will be in the pudding. Safeguards will emerge quickly, and either way, I think this kind of rapid innovation is great for the social media landscape.

With looming social media bans for teens in countries worldwide, ‘Rooms’ in messaging apps are increasingly being used as an alternative, and this is a key feature of Bitchat.

Bitchat will cater for the demand from social media users who are increasingly seeking out private and dark social, especially popular with younger users, coupled with the desire to spend time offline, off grid, and to bypass costly data packages.
