@dreamingof80 20 seconds+ away is enough to make you not want to do it (eg. not good example for twt but keeping the chips in the basement cabinet instead of in your bedroom) it's what I've been learning in uni and it's all super cool stuff for how to help yourself!! ask if unsure :D 💖 4/

@dreamingof80 - about my original "changing habits": for example if you want to stop scrolling on your phone in bed, have books on your table beside bed, so the environment of "phone time" starts pointing you to the book instead - proximity is a big deal. typically having something 3/

@dreamingof80 so saving something you like for after you did the hard thing is better than punishing yourself if you don't do something- just chemically how our brain learns habits and cause/effect - it takes about 3 weeks to build a habit from scratch 2/

@dreamingof80 RAAAHHHH totally totally... some more science-backed tips for you,, - when you get the sudden urge to do something (say: brush your teeth), it comes for about 6 seconds. so if you wait longer than that it'll dissipate - reward is stronger for building habits than punishment 1/
