So inspiring!
“My parents could barely read or write. It’s been quite a journey, science allows you to do it.” New laureate Omar Yaghi was in the middle of changing flights when we reached him, just after he heard that he had been awarded the 2025 #NobelPrize in Chemistry. In this interview

Interestingly, spatial co-occurrence of gamma-spikes and preictal spikes was able to optimally predict seizure outcomes in temporal lobe epilepsy, extra temporal lobe epilepsy, negative MRI patients, positive MRI patients, etc. making it generalizable.

Spatial co-occurrence of only 2 features: gamma-spikes and preictal spikes optimally predicted the surgical outcome.

Ictal low voltage fast activity, although an association with surgical outcomes was found (but effect size not strong), has a lower prédictive performance when compared to other single features such as gamma-spikes, preictal spikes.

We demonstrated that the seizure onset zone, used by many experts as proxy of the Epileptigenic zone, has a low predictive performance.

SEEG analysis is time consuming. Numerous features from interictal, preictal, ictal, postictal and results related to cortical stimulation are available. Which one should be prioritized when defining the resection margins? Spoiler: it includes the gamma-spikes!
🚨 Our multicenter study by @dr_chifa on visual #SEEG features in #epilepsysurgery is now out in @ANA_journals @WileyNeuro! 🔎 Key finding: Spatial co-occurrence of gamma-spikes + preictal spikes best predicted #seizure freedom! Check it out 👉 https://t.co/6PUakuHODH

What a wonderful discussion session we had this morning! Thank you again for the invitation. It’s such an honor to present my work at your amazing center. Hope I convinced you to look at the spatial co-occurrence of gamma-spikes and preictal spikes 😉.
Please join us for #Epilepsy Grand Rounds with @dr_chifa tomorrow at 8am US eastern. Register using this link: https://t.co/sSxkFLwfWN

Shall we 'rethink' the blueprint for the brain? For nearly a century, Penfield's homunculus shaped our understanding of the motor cortex. From toe to tongue right? Gordon and Dosenbach in the journal Nature elegantly revealed to us that the homunculus is more intricate than we
