Ok, so unpopular opinion, I guess… I don’t think news entities should ever endorse political candidates. They can and SHOULD report objectively on all the terrifying stuff coming from DJT. I’d much rather honest reporting than ‘both-sidesing’ and editorial opinions. Inform us!.

In no other field do you hire someone for their immense expertise in a very niche field and immediately ask them to change what they do… science is weird.
Can we retire the “How will you distinguish yourself from your postdoc advisor?” question that is typically asked of faculty candidates? I don’t think there is a meaningful answer that would inform a hiring decision one way or the other. Also, it’s silly.

Sharing this for twitterless (X-less?) Rohit Chandwani - a great clinical dive into differences between KRAS G12D/V and G12R mutations. Mirrors clear differences we see in mice. Happy we could contribute a small part to this work. G12R is an odd duck.

This seems obvious now, but… For those using #mageck for heavily bottlenecked (positive selection) screens -> do your own read normalization, then turn off normalization when you run the package. Median normalization was wreaking havoc on our data.
Can someone point me in the right direction here. trying to use #MAGeCK on some screen data - the table output says 'mean' but actually reports the median, and LFC looks to be calculated from that value. Is there a way to force the use of the mean for sgRNA level counts?
