Scottie in his first press conference since winning the third leg of the Grand Slam got more questions about Happy Gilmore than the claret jug.

Swafford: "As a golf fan, you want to see the best playing together. I don’t think this fracture is good for the game.. Scheffler (March 2024): "We had a tour, we were all together, and the people that left are no longer here. That's where the splintering comes from.".

Lot of chatter about who didn't make FedEx Cup playoffs. Worth noting those who had no signature events and no majors at the start of the seaosn who play their way in. Jacob Bridgeman an example that having a PGA Tour card is enough to earn the way

Jacob Bridgeman started the year with a PGA Tour card and nothing more. He wasn't in any of the majors or signature events.

Being the 1,000th winner on the PGA Tour is cool. But it's kind of weird to see something that doesn't include "since 1983" like all the other stats. List starts with Willie Park in 1860. The PGA Tour only dates to 1916 when PGA of America began.

Cam is honest to a fault, even in victory: "Where do I go? I've never done this before." Terrific.

Duval had 7 runner-up finishes on tour before winning. Here's what he said about Cam last year: "Once you realize as a player that you're doing everything you can and you don't have to do anything different, it opens up the gates." Took a while to open. But they opened this week.

What we have at the moment: Davis Thompson three-putts from 45' to fall out of the top 70. Matti Schmid birdies his last 3 and moves to No. 70.

Still trying to sort this out: Your 36-hole leader at Royal Porthcawl is Miyu Yamashita. She is listed on the Japan LPGA as Miyuu Yamashita. What happened to the other "u"???.Am told it was a typo on the passport and she gets listed as Miyu overseas. A great mystery . .

Yani makes her first cut in a LPGA-sanctioned event since Swinging Skirts in 2018. First in a major since a T30 in 2017 at Women's British.

Couldn't help but notice Yani Tseng at E with six holes to play in Women's British Open, cut at +2. Yani hasn't made a cut in a major in eight years.

Turns pro two weeks ago. Betting favorite at Women's British Open. Golf doesn't always move slowly. Lottie Woad makes a big impression and already is the talk of women's golf

Brett White and Philip Barbaree Jr. with 59s a day apart in Canada. More amazing: The last time no one on any recognized tour around the world did not shoot 59 or lower was in 2012.
