With Art Plays Games opening @ FACT Liverpool earlier this week, just for fun: what's your favourite video game? Whether an old classic (Pilot Wings on the SNES is a contender for M) or something more recent...

As ever, I'm available for commissions. I've been writing about art and culture for more than a decade, worked at Tate as Content Editor, and have lectured at various unis (inc. LJMU, Man Met, Liverpool Hope). If you're after a good, reliable freelancer, do get in touch ✍️

Friends, it's been a dry few weeks in independent publishing land. It would mean a lot if you considered supporting our work. Thank you ♥️
Morning everyone. We rarely do these direct asks, but if you care about independent publishing, value what we do and would like to see that continue, we could do with your support: https://t.co/3v6NtDqVjd Thanks 👍

Where to start with Yo La Tengo? If you haven’t already, just start.
From the jangle-pop of their early years, via indie-rock, folk and noise-pop, over four decades, Yo La Tengo have staked out and defined their own territory, writes @doublenegativeM

@doublenegativeM My fave big screen outings this year have been The Beast (set in 1910, 2044 & 2014, & loosely based on the Henry James novella, The Beast in the Jungle), and Sky Peals (set in a fictitious service station). Both have SF elements but are ultimately about humans trying to connect.

Fave film(s)? Go!
Hey, cinephiles! This weekend sees the UK get in the mode for the big screen with #nationalcinemaday @CinemaDayUK. We thought it'd be nice to have a (roughly) week chatting about fave films, genres, actors and directors, and why cinema remains special. Be great to hear from you!
