he was such a loser fr thatās why i love the ā15/16 dazai had bracesā headcanon bc it makes him look even more loser-esque, properly reflecting his emo teen know-it-all personality

not really yall just read the chapters through leaks instead of reading the actual volumes
black butler & bungo stray dogs are competing to be the manga with the worst pacing ever and itās actually not even funny anymore like wdym they have both been going for DECADES yet the plot hasnāt moved past a year in-universe

chuuya staying in the mafia isnāt sustainable. if something happens to mori and chuuya ends up being the boss, then itās definitely not sustainable. im not saying he should join the ada (thatās another conversation), but i donāt think he should stay in the mafia.

i feel like this adds to chuuyas journey and muraseās efforts to show chuuya the light. it has been shown time and time again that chuuya doesnāt belong in the mafiaāheās too soft, too emotional, too caring. but ur environment shapes and changes u, and chuuya is slowly changing.

chuuya isnāt outright telling dazai to kill Q, but he wouldnāt have stopped him either. this is surprising bc in the past, dazai was constantly shown to be the harsher half of skk (and chuuya sometimes had to reel him in, like in 15). now the roles have been reversed.

dazaiās words in the Q scene may seem harsh, but thatās bc heās not being honest. itās not āinsurance,ā itās following odasakuās last words. he wouldnāt have killed Q even if the āinsuranceā aspect wasnāt there. heās just putting up a front.

in this scene, chuuya shows both empathy (in regard to his dead subordinates) and emotional detachment (heās okay with Q, a child, being murdered). This slightly contrasts the choices chuuya made when he first joined the mafia (like in 15, when he asked dazai to spare the kids).

i also like how, when put side by side, dazaiās newfound softness highlights chuuyaās growing emotional detachment. obviously chuuya is incredibly empathetic, but one cannot stay in the mafia environment without slowly sacrificing their empathy. i think this is most seen with Q
i love when you can catch glimpses of chuuya realizing how much dazai has changed since joining the agency in softer and seemingly insignificant moments like this
