Example 3 of 3 This last image is an example of a much less traditional frame. Again, the emphasis isn't on the main subject so much as on one of the elements of the frame itself. Likewise, it is up to the individual photographer or viewer to decide if they like it or not.

Example 2 of 3 A less traditional version of framing, where more emphasis is placed on the frame than on the main subject. Yes? No? Good? Bad? You decide.

Example 1 of 3 A more traditional kind of framing. In this case, the pine branches do a great job of framing the four heads on Mount Rushmore, SD. The trees in the scree below the heads adds to the frame, completing it along the bottom. All images @NikonUSA Z8, 24-120mm f/4 S

A 🧵 Framing: one of the basic photo "tricks" used by landscape photographers to bring emphasis to the subject of their images. I don't often shoot with framing in mind, but when one jumps up and slaps me, well . . . Here are 3 variations on that theme, with the same subject.

It took 3 tries to get this posted . . . Is anyone else having such problems?

So I create a thread, and when I tried to post it, I got a message that said it looked like it had been automated, and "to protect users from spam," it could not be posted. Spam? Noting could be further from the truth. What gives?

You get up in the wee smalls with the intention of going to one place, but the beautiful sunrise light demands you go in the exact other direction, in the hopes that something will materialize. And it does . . . Mount Rushmore, South Dakota, USA @NikonUSA Z8, 24-120mm f/4 S

There are more "experts" in photography than in almost anything else. Don't fall for someone's nonsense. Check out their work. Make sure they are putting their money where their mouth is. This includes me.

I’d bet there are others in the same boat. If a Z8 without the video capabilities at a lower price were available, I’d be all over it. And videographers, who might want to shoot multiple camera setups would obviously find doing so much easier financially, too.

I believe such a move would do at least 2 things. First, it would increase sales across the board. I really believe it would. I’d love a second Z8, but can’t afford to buy one because the price is out of my reach, and I’m not going to settle for anything else.

Price the three accordingly: the one that does both at the current price point, and the other two at appropriately lower price points.
