Just a grass snake swimming along the reservoir and dragging a Bullhead out of a crevice between the rocks. Not top level cinematography (phone zoomed to max + me trying to guess where the snake was) but cool to see! .#StuffSeenWhileBirding

This is the heart rate heat map for about 6 hours of apple watch tracking over the same few hectares - reed bed and woodland. Who can guess what my activity was? And what was happening on the redder extremities?

A highlight of @GlobalBirdfair - getting to hang out briefly with the indomitable spirit that is Peter Harrison and swap a couple stories about living at 55° south. Safe travels back to Seattle & thanks for a wonderful talk. #GlobalBirdFair #albatrosses

Contender for new fave #wader - especially on a sultry June afternoon when you’re not expecting to see & hear much more than juvenile Tit flocks and Gadwall ducklings. Spotted Redshank. 😊.PS. The background monotony is Reed Bunting….

Set nets at night. Sleep a bit. Back a few hours later. Then finally about to pack up & a mixed Tit flock hits the nets, including about 15 juvenile Great Tits all following the wrong bird 😂🤦🏻‍♂️.Coincidentally, this Sedge Warbler was first ringed very close to my school in France!
