Michigan home care workers now have the power to collectively bargain for better jobs and care. This historic win means a better future where care workers get the respect they deserve and our loved ones can get the care they need. #CareIsEssential

Victory! 32,000 Michigan home care workers—largely women, people of color, and immigrants—just won the Midwest’s largest union election since the UAW organized Ford Motor Company in 1941. #UnionsForAll @seiuhcmi @MIHCWUnited

Did you know that domestic workers are more than three times as likely to be living in poverty than other workers? I broke down this issue and many others with @aijenpoo, Executive Director of @domesticworkers. https://t.co/ra6tun3L9T

Prior to the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights passed in 2021 (thanks to @RepMcClellan, National Domestic Workers Alliance @domesticworkers and their political arm @CareInActionUS), there was NO requirement to pay domestic workers minimum wage in Virginia. READ THAT AGAIN!!
The craziest thing I heard yesterday night at the Mehta town hall was a Richmond-area home care worker saying she only makes $13 an hour. "Teenager wages," as she called them. Meanwhile, Trump wants to take away the minimum wage for these workers and overtime pay

Dorothy Lee Bolden founded the National Domestic Workers Union in 1968, turning bus rides into organizing meetings. Her fight won domestic workers fairer wages, minimum wage protections, job training, and political power. This Labor Day, we honor her legacy.

The Department of Labor moved to end hard won protections that allow care workers to be paid fairly. This isn’t about cutting costs. This is about silencing us back into a system that was never meant for us. Tell the DoL: don’t gut care worker rights. https://t.co/LfaRARtBaZ

The Department of Labor’s proposal to cut homecare workers' rights is a part of a long, ugly history. In 1938, domestic workers were excluded from federal labor laws to appease segregationists. Tell the DoL: stop the rollback. Protect care workers now.

The Department of Labor is trying to quietly undo a major civil rights & labor victory: they want to strip wage protections for home care workers. This isn’t about cutting costs, it’s about erasing care workers. Tell the DoL: Care work is essential. https://t.co/LfaRARtBaZ

ICYMI: Team VA called yet again on @RepJenKiggans to answer for her vote to cut lifesaving Medicaid coverage for constituents across her district. Medicaid isn't just a policy, it's a lifeline.

July marks 60 years of Medicaid. But instead of celebrating, we’re grieving. While Congress handed billionaires tax breaks, millions of families lost much-needed care. From July 23–26, we’re joining a 60-hour vigil to say: we will not “get over” this. https://t.co/mtyZbRVH6t

On July 26, families rose up in 200+ events coast to coast to make 1 thing clear: we will fight for #Medicaid. To our friends, neighbors & communities — you are not alone. We’ll keep showing up, louder and stronger, to say in unity: Our families come first. #PeoplePowerCare
