i think that kenjaku’s “love” for yuuji is because yuuji is his creation. not in the maternal sense. it’s a grotesque sort of love, like someone admiring scattering ants after crushing their hill. an evil sort of fascination with giving life, taking it away, with meddling with it
the thing is tho that his "love" for yuuji goes beyond that of a scientists for their experiment but it also isnt fully a mothers love for their child. he obvs watched yuuji bc of his whole experiment but he didn't need to thank some rando for being friends with his creature

it’s not a coincidence that choso (cursed womb, hates kenjaku for his treatment of his mother) fought naoya, the embodiment of his clan’s misogynistic and sexist views

i dislike when ppl blame naoya’s misogyny on internalized homophobia, or say that he must be secretly gay. this perpetuates the idea that gay men can’t really be misogynistic, which isn’t true. sexism doesn’t arise from a lack of attraction to women, it’s engrained in society.

so, comparing them isn’t a fair fight. suguru and maki would never be on equal footing in jujutsu society, which is evidenced by how suguru treats her in jjk0. she doesn’t get genuine credit from him for being strong as she is still a non sorcerer in his eyes.

the only time he was outcasted was when he no longer was doing the bidding of the higher ups or following the code of jujutsu society. maki’s actions were a result, albeit ones that could perhaps be argued as extreme, of systemic violence and oppression.

i also think it’s disingenuous to compare maki’s actions to suguru’s in regards to morality. suguru was caged by a system that treated him like a lamb for slaughter, but he was not oppressed or treated like a pariah societally. he was a man, an extremely powerful one at that.

there’s also something to be said about kenjaku’s violence against women as the story progresses. kaori, choso’s mother, tsumiki, the twins. kenjaku uses them all as they see fit, because they don’t see women as more than vessels or tools to use for their own gains

this is a luke warm take but i do think kenjaku loves yuuji, and i don’t think that’s an incorrect thing to say. but kenjaku loves yuuji the way a scientist loves a successful experiment. it’s not parental or fond, but rather in the way that yuuji is kenjaku’s magnum opus

fandom spaces are funny bc there’s people out there whose worst experience with discrimination is someone not liking the same t/b dynamic as them
