My first drop is officially scheduled for 11/19 at 10 AM PST! I am still pouring and taking listing photos. In my FAQ, I said I don't do order combinations, but I will definitely try if anyone places more than one order. I just haven't figured it out yet and I learn by doing. 🦤

Surprise! I have not 1 but 3 dodo squish designs! My OG Dodo, a Rose/Flower Dodo inspired by Lily, and a Croc Dodo inspired by Crocstar. 🦤 As if splicing a dodo's genes with a chicken wasn't gutsy enough, we've gone mad scientist on the dodo DNA!

I dumped all of my leftover silicone into a single cup and poured it into my moth mold. It came out so much prettier than I expected! 😍

I have discarded a number of pigments that were utilized in my last drop and if there is anything I missed during QC, I want to make things right. I've already contacted individuals with affected toys by email, but if anyone has any issues with their purchases, please contact me.

🦝I may drop a very limited no. of moths before retiring the mold. I made a handful of these for long-time mutuals as gifts when I first started practicing, but I do have a few left over & when I overestimate how much silicone I need, I use the mold so it isn't all cup scrap!🦋

I also poured a lovely little flower dodo, but she is flopped for a squished beak because the cup I used to hold the glove mold wasn't wide enough (oops!)
I also noticed her forehead thorn is prone to a bubble on the tip. Hopefully that won't happen every time!

Speaking of cup scrap, I have an absolutely shameful amount of cup scrap 😂 Should I list the scrap for $1/pc? Would anyone want it? (I think I could easily combine these orders.) 🦤 Look, they make nice beds/yoga mats/pedestals for your favorite squish 😜

I want to make my first drop sometime this month, tentatively 11/19.
I haven't figured out all the backend stuff on Shopify yet, but hopefully I won't have too many hiccups. I think I'll start getting listing photos ready this week and get a couple more soft Crocs poured.

Good news and bad news!
Lily's mold is a success! 🥳She should no longer have bubbles under the leaves or a bump on the pistil head. There will still be 2 Lilies from the old mold in the next drop.
(Bad news: I still managed to flop my first pull for a different reason.) 🦤

Last but not least, the flower dodos! These are all flops, mostly for hard to see bubbles in different places (under the tail, or the forehead thorn tip). Pink is flopped for a slightly smooshed beak.

My new Lily mold & dodo molds are resting so I can get back to pouring in a couple of days. I'm excited, I think these molds came out much better than the last. I fixed the areas on the Rose Dodo that were flopping with bubbles & gave the bottom of Lily's leaves extra attention!

Feeling a little deflated😔My rose dodo mold tore as I was removing a dodo, so I need to make a new one. My Lily came out flopped with a bubble on the head and bubbles on the leaves again, but on the bright side, I used the right amount of ease release. I'll try again tomorrow 🤞

Weeelll.... I think I didn't use enough mold release on my Lily mold. Her main head is stuck. 🫣 In good news, though, Flower Dodo mold is working. Lily shall be delayed another 4 days, I think, while I create a new mold... again. 😰

There should be 8 Crocstars (4 med/4 soft), 2 flopped Lilies, and a few moths and Flower Dodos up for grabs. I hope to have a second drop in December with a few Lilies, but I may not have a second drop until January. Hopefully my OG Dodo and Croc-Dodo are ready to go by then too!

I am nervous and excited. I know the timing around the holidays is probably a bad idea, but I really wanted to make my first drop this year!
After this and Lily's debut in 🤞 Dec/Jan, I am considering making my drops only 4x a year on a schedule I know will work for me.

I only made four of each this round, but I plan to make many more in February! I am reworking my Flower Dodo master to fix the problem areas & I will try utilizing a mold shell so I can make molds more easily!

I'm getting as much done as I can before the 21st, which is when I'm having surgery on my wrist. I planned to do a lot more during my winter break, but I won't be able to use my right hand for 2-3 wks, so I'll be scheduling my next drop for December 16 @ 10 AM PST!

I am reworking how I list dodos now that I am making more of them. I think I will have separate listings for each model (OG/Flower/Croc) and variants to choose from within those listings. I'm thinking Pastel/Bright/Dark/NearClear/Flop.

I have tried 2x to fix the bubble on the base of my Lily mold & the silicone keeps popping out! So, for the time being, I'm going to pour as is and mark it under *special considerations. It will not require any extra cleaning and won't affect use, it's just an aesthetic mold flaw

Come January 1st, I will be deactivating customer checkout on Shopify to save on site fees until my next drop, which I think I will be postponing until March. I will be listing all of my remaining stock on Etsy and I'll see how my sales go from there. 🦤

Unfortunately, my third Lily mold is also flopped. The Lily that came out of it is so pretty though! I'll be repairing and keeping her. Fortunately, the issue this time was not the mold release, but there was a bubble right on the tip of the main shaft. 1/2

Lily has once again proven to be finicky 🥲 She's a lot of fun, but her leaves are still causing me trouble. Only one of the Lilies I poured this round came without leaves under the bubbles but was flopped for pigment freckles on the leaves. 😮💨I hope she will still find a home!

2/2 There was also a little flaw on the master that is being repaired before I make another mold, so Lily will most likely not be available for the first drop until I work out all the kinks. I will say each attempt has gone smoother than the last. 🦤
