This is a shame. Not including the mental and family sacrifices, medical/surgical residents work long hours often at less than minimum wage. Plus medical school tuition is out of control and physician reimbursement as stagnant in the state of inflation!.

Just for my own curiosity, why do hospitals in the US spend so much money and effort to guard scrubs? Was there once a great scrubs robbery? A pair of scrubs probably doesn’t cost more than a single dose of a cheap antibiotic?.

Check out our newest publication! We may be underestimating the number of children who die from uncontrolled hemorrhage early after injury using trauma registry data @VCUGenSurgRes @ChildrensNatl @APSASurgeons @PediTraumaSoc @traumadoctors.
Children who die from hemorrhage before receiving blood are often misclassified in studies of hemorrhagic shock. We identified potential survival bias in a cohort of children who died following injury & estimated it to be ~11% but <1% of trauma activations.
