Major advances in systemic therapy landscape with ⬆️⬆️⬆️objective responses and overall survival! Atezo/Bev and Durva/Treme preferred agents in first line setting!

#TACE and #TARE recommended therapies for patients with BCLC stage B disease. Awaiting data for combination therapies. Large BCLC stage B disease (TACE ineligible) can be considered for systemic therapies! Ongoing trials comparing systemic vs. embolic therapy in this group.

Local ablation is curative treatment for those who are ineligible for surgical therapies, particularly if lesion <3 cm in size. #Radioembolization (using radiation segmentectomy approach) and external beam radiation therapy (#EBRT) can be alternative approaches to local ablation

Guidance for use of surgical resection and liver transplantation in patients with early-stage HCC:

Liver #transplant is curative treatment of choice for early-stage HCC in those with liver dysfunction or multifocality! #Downstaging supported by randomized data and expands eligibility to those within UNOS-DS criteria. Early referral for transplant consideration is key!

Surgical resection curative treatment for those with non-cirrhotic HCC and those with compensated cirrhosis. Resection has been limited by high recurrence but @AASLDtweets now recommends adjuvant therapy in high-risk patients based on recent #IMBrave050 data.

#Multidisciplinary care is critical for #HCC management (strong recommendation). Been associated with improved guideline concordant treatment and improved survival.
