We have been scaling back for a week (only come in if necessary), and institution will shut things down soon I think.

My lab’s been closed a week already- I keep thinking the Uni will shut research down but if they won’t do it when the whole state is on lockdown I don’t see what their tipping point will be.

This is NOT ok. My group transitioned to remote work 2 weeks ago. Productivity may suffer, but people matter more than data. Messages from higher up are vague enough to allow PIs to continue with lab/fieldwork if they choose. I really wish they would just shut everything down.

yes! It is mind boggling that the message isn't simply "The wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff is our top priority. Stay home."

I don’t care what my Uni says, my lab is closed and we are WFH only. Is your PI instructing everyone to go in? Or if you’re the PI, do you feel pressure from the Uni to kee things going?
