When on a report writing role there is certainly a part of me that thinks #SLPeeps / #WeSpeechies must have hand written or used a type writer for reports once upon a time 😬 Am I right in saying these are the good new days?

It’s been an eventful afternoon- first a goat on my street across from my driveway and then one of my new chooks thought the top of the tree would be a good roost. It’s been a while between tree climbs! #backyard #BrokenHill

Actual habits of successful people: • Wake up when their body tells them to • Read stuff that interests them • Exercise when it best fits into their schedule • Drink coffee if they like coffee • Sometimes eat unhealthy food • Tell the people they love that they love them

#NZSPAConf M2A Madeline Raatz et al: interesting to hear consumer perceptions about the delivery of paed feeding services via telepractice - some parents worried about managing their child’s behaviour during appointments, and ⬇️ opportunities for child to build rapport with SLP.

Why do we tolerate such poor knowledge translation in education? 🤷🏻♀️ This puts a break on economic development. We can’t allow this to continue. (But we do). @Kathy_Rastle #DSFconf

Spoken vocabulary is critical but teachers need to focus on the yellow route with beginning readers - @StanDehaene at #DSFconf With fluency & automaticity, the child is liberated to focus on meaning. If only this privileged view was shared with pre-service teachers.
