Are Epson label printers good? Looking at LW-Z710 (180dpi) & need wire/cable wrap labels. They're sold out everywhere. The LW-1000P isn't much more expensive and is 360dpi, but then the wire wrap cartridges are 3x more expensive?!.

Amazon Prime Video support advice: disable #IPv6 in your home if it breaks our video on your smart TV. Never mind the lack of IPv6 support, why did nobody bother to check their app could stream video on a smart TV with an IPv6 address?!.

Are they basing profitability on the 'printer' model; selling hardware at loss and profit on subscriptions? I wouldn't expect this to be profitable for a white goods manufacturer. Open standards, would be a better strategy. @HaierAppliances see #SHELLY as a successful example.

Either way, if they're worried about losing revenue. They're still losing those who would have bought their appliances to use with Home Assistant won't do so now. So they would have never seen the smart subscription revenue either way.

I'm interested to see if there really is IP infringement or if they're just disgruntled that someone reverse engineered their proprietary protocols.

When going after an OSS Dev backfires for a corporation. After the dev published the take down notice the code was forked over 225 times. Does @HaierAppliances really want to play whack-a-mole with a growing number of targets?

IPv6 is finally supported and working well over PPPoE from PAN-OS 11.1.0. For those in the UK; I can confirm that IPv6 ND (via SLAAC) and PD (via DHCPv6) on FTTP from @Zeninternet work with PPPoE terminated on the firewall. Thank you @PaloAltoNtwks it's been a long wait.

#Tuffy didn't last any longer than other dog toys. Is there a more durable dog toy out there?

My Broadband Speed Test - Avg Down: 910.3 Mbps, Avg Up: 106.9 Mbps (via @thinkbroadband) . Great service from @zeninternet, my only hope is for faster upstream as it's capped at 100mbps while others provide symmetric gigabit (@litfibre).

@severalnines Here's a suggestion: Deploy a script to the managed nodes and run that. It will cut down on the volume of auditd logs AND cut down on the number of ssh sessions AND make it easy for sysadmins to whitelist the scripts in sudo rules. #security.

When sysadmins want to cut down on the vast volume of logging from ClusterControl managed nodes. They are faced with a choice between dropping all auditd logs for the account CC uses, or taking the hit on log storage.

Any ClusterControl server (/sysaccount) thus becomes a huge target as this essentially means that if you can get the credentials ClusterControl uses you can do anything on the nodes.

Dealing w auditd logs I'm again faced w how chatty #ClusterControl is on the nodes it manages. Runs everything as root (via sudo) even for things that don't need it. A quick peek at what sudo rules are advised and @severalnines suggest: 'ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL'. Really. ?!.

The last episode in my (FreeIPA based) PKI automation series: #NAKIVO. I had to overcome some initial niggles:.- Transporter (v10.10) bug.- Director crt changes via API requires an ENTERPRISE PLUS license ๐Ÿ˜ . But their support was brilliant. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ. Solution:

Looking for a decent corporate backup solution which supports (open)LDAP and not just AD authentication for the management interface. #Veeam requires Windows, #Asigra has an ancient UI, #Nakivo only does AD auth. What credible other #backup options are there?.
