Internally displaced people from fragile and conflict-affected states like Burkina Faso often face #FoodInsecurity and a lack of livelihood options. The short-cycle seed kits hope to support communities by giving access to traditional, easy-to-grow, nutritious vegetables.

WorldVeg made the largest single deposit at Svalbard this year with 11,113 samples of 60 species. Two Indigenous communities worked with WorldVeg to also deposit local varieties such as rice bean, lablab and yard-long bean. @CropTrust

The 6th APSA-WorldVeg Vegetable Breeding Consortium annual workshop was held at ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research in India on 9-10 May. Nearly 200 on-site and online participants joined this two-day event to talk about tomato, pepper, and cucurbit breeding. 🍅🌶🥒
