I watch the livestreams when I can and at the same time or after look for local or content specific reporters that can help interpret or contextualize. The more availability the more we also need experts.

One issue, I think, is that national media have decided that local expertise is unnecessary bc everyone can watch the hearings on the livestream. Actually, no. It doesn’t matter how many hours of a hearing you watch if you can’t even articulate the applicable legal standard.

Missed my train by 2 min after an international flight. Completely unhelpful ticket counter @nationalrailenq. Now stuck at the station with no place to go.

12 #PATC3 So go to your nearest Freshwater or Marine Protected Area and see the rivers and oceans as they might have been. Tell your own fish story! Thanks to all the amazing people I missed here who have helped with my journey on fish - all everyone who joined online!

11 #PATC3 Today we are less engaged on an individual level with freshwater, frequently we cannot see the abundance of life that once was teeming beneath the surface. I propose that this disconnection comes with less "river stories" in our lives and less desire to protect them.

10 #PATC3 In the past less pollution, more larger fish, and more diversity of fishes meant that average individuals likely had seen fish swimming in their interactions with rivers and lakes more often leading to more "river stories" in daily life. https://t.co/RN8WwlfZ2W

9 #PATC3 I work on proteins from fish bones to identify freshwater species in the archaeological record. This work increasingly supports the idea that past rivers had more diversity of fishes. We are now looking at species that might indicate what the rivers looked like.

8 #PATC3 Looking to archaeology, there are also clues that in the past in general fish were bigger and there was more diversity. Fish bones in the past are much larger than today indicating bigger, older fish were much more common. For more: @davidcorton https://t.co/i6laFcGGiq

7 #PATC3 Recipes in Medieval cookbooks contained all sorts of interesting things including freshwater fish like eel, carp, pike, and even lampray. We tried some of those recipes with @thedemochef at @YorkFestofIdeas with @Fishnshipsuk and some were surprisingly good!

6 #PATC3 But are these images of bigger and more diversity of fishes fantastical fiction or based in reality? Historical fishing records, paintings of fish markets, and even photos like those below have clues. For more follow @Prof_CallumYork or read https://t.co/CeoAnsJDqG

5 #PATC3 But what might have people seen in the past? We find clues in maps and images of fish. Fish were pictured as eating people in mosaics. Lots of different fish are illustrated at fish markets. And @pbhellawell has shown me some fantastical fish on Medieval maps.
