Don't try to sound fancy at work. It just makes you harder to understand. Got examples of this?. I'll start:. "additional" --> "more". "showcase" --> "show". "what we're working on from a build perspective" --> "what we're building".

Anyone moved away from New Relic to a less expensive alternative?. I've used it for 10 years at 3 web SaaS companies. It's great, but EXPENSIVE. Lots of new products are appearing that are literally 90% less expensive. Anyone have a migration story?.

I'm seeing it used to mean interview format (host + guest). Also, they abbreviate it as "pod". Gross. Was I the only one listening to podcasts on my iPod in 2006, syncing the shows from RSS feeds via iTunes on my desktop???.

Claude Code favors developers who can context switch quickly. If you've always loved jumping between tasks, you're in for a treat for the next few years.

I found where all the em dashes are coming from. It's Agatha Christie's novels. You're welcome.

What it was like moving from jQuery to AngularJS 13 years ago?. I blogged about it back then. Crazy new ideas:. - Using class names only for CSS, not selectors.- Data binding.- Moving templates out of <script> files and into your HTML directly. Read here:.

This is a cold take, but Redocly is pretty awesome. Redocly was clearly created by people who know the craft. Other tools look great on the surface, but cracks appear when you touch common edge cases (looking at you .

Would you hire a civil engineer who can "vibe design" 10x more bridges than a regular engineer?.

Hey @StackOverflow, looks like @remix_run didn't make it into this year's developer survey, framework question. :-(.

When a login form doesn't allow my password manager to autofill, it makes me think that all login form testing should include the popular password managers. If your login form doesn't allow password manager autofill, I have to believe that you don't take security seriously.

I have not seen a more egregious invasion of privacy from any company in the 25 years I've been paying attention. Huge shame on Meta. How did zero of Meta's developers, managers, or program managers not refuse to implement this or blow the whistle?.

Add this to the list of things I never thought I would do:. Implement the AWS Sigv4 signing algorithm in Google Apps Script, and control AWS services from a spreadsheet. Honestly, this was surprisingly fun, and challenging to debug.

I want to hear more stories like Sidecar. We have HUGE survivorship bias in the tech industry. Share the stories that didn’t survive!
