The recent New Year celebrations made me think about why I don't like making predictions when it comes to DITA 2.0; from a slide I presented back in 2017:

I just finished updating the DITA Tools listing page at https://t.co/wZ1JGwb4qy, which primarily lists free and open-source plugins. DITA Platform tools will come on a separate page next week. #ditaxml #techcomm

The Companies Using DITA list on https://t.co/zNoOqRJzzT has been updated. This update involved removing companies that have been acquired, merged, or no longer exist, but the list remains substantial. https://t.co/pzeg9ZtrRP #ditaxml

Converting Content and Coding DITA with Claude AI - https://t.co/CEvLbYzusR I put @AnthropicAI's https://t.co/MnVO7o370A to work converting existing content to #DITAXML. While the results were not flawless, the results suggest AI in #techcomm is here to stay.

About a third of the way done updating the database behind https://t.co/pzeg9ZtrRP (not posted yet). It is clear that the total number of DITA-using companies will drop, mainly due to mergers. But based on unpublished research, I know there are more firms out there using #DITAXML

Update, November 29, 2024: Updating this list of companies using DITA is long overdue. This update essentially prunes the list of the many (132) companies that have either merged or no longer exist…

Nice to add a new addition to the list of #DITAXML books: https://t.co/CzCgdcQzFg. This one comes from the good people at @scriptorium, and includes several chapters on DITA-related strategy/management. #techdocs

Am currently working on a thorough update of the list of DITA-using companies. It's long past due.

I was very happy at how this webinar turned out. Some practical info on #DITAxml #techdocs and #SEO, along with some ideas for pushing past talking about efficiencies and moving to improving #CustomerExperience. #techcomm
