Given all the craziness around Shopify App Store reviews, I have a spicy idea 💡🌶️. Allow app owners to pick which reviews get pinned on the front page and force everyone to show at least one bad review (3 stars or under, if they have one). Hear me out. I'm in the SaaS M&A.

I wish app devs also could leave reviews for merchats on Shopify so other devs could see the reviews of merchants. Uber allows drivers to rate customers so why not to apply this to Shopify and then merchants with low score would weight less in app ratings. This would create more

I’ve had luck with the opposite approach. 1. Follow as many people as you want (I’m still under 200). 2. Only use the For You page so you don’t have to consume every tweet by every person you follow. Only cream of the crop tweets rise to the top. I also have OCD so it was hard.
lessons for a better experience on X. - follow less than 200 people.- never use the for you page.- create more than you consume.- do interesting stuff you can talk about.- use these settings (must have if you go viral!)

Why do wedding venues never answer my questions in the inquiry field? Is it like this in all sales? Why even put the field there if you’re just going to push for a meeting and avoid saying no. I guess I just answered my own question….

So not only did things not get better, they actually got worse. I didn’t like being cynical while all this was happening, but this is why we wait until the rubber hits the road. Hopes and wishes mean diddly squat 💩. @shopify loves to talk about their technical prowess, but can’t.
I'm a little frustrated today. I am happy Shopify is taking action regarding reviews, the purge hurt watching hard earned reviews be removed but my thoughts were that it was short term pains for long term gains. However, in the last 2 weeks we have received three 5 star.

Translation: bad actors gamed the system and so we have to equalize it for everyone, even though you might have done everything right.
Some developers will see small rating shifts, up or down. It sucks to lose reviews you worked hard for, but the new system is fairer for everyone. Devs won’t be held hostage to bad faith reviews, and merchants can get better signals on which apps fit them best.

So when I spend six figures acquiring Shopify apps, all 3 of which had around 4-5 reviews, that can all get wiped out just because @shopify wants to clean up old reviews?. Part of the reason I rebuilt one of them was to leverage the existing reviews. I didn’t rebuild it as a.
I'm fully prepared to get flamed here. Sometimes doing the right thing can be super fucking messy. It gets even messier when it has to be done at tremendous scale, is something people care *a lot* about, and even MORE so when there's truly no way for it to be done perfectly.
