The QC government trusts Dizon will "champion strategic, science-based, and community-driven solutions" to the persistent problem of flooding, including the adoption and scaling of Quezon City’s Drainage Master Plan.

Prior to his new post, Vargas was the Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas. He was appointed by then-President Rodrigo Duterte in March 2022 with a seven-year term.
