Today is our 14th Anniversary (We launched May 1, 2009.) Note that this past Friday we disabled add-on sales. The site will stay online as a resource. Thanks for 14 years!

We've disabled most functionality at this point (forums, ratings, reviews). We encourage people to stop buying add-ons on devot:ee and buy them elsewhere. We also encourage devs to disable their add-ons for sale on devot:ee at their earliest convenience.

For developers: add-on can be sold through end of April, so all final payouts will be made in June, regardless if you are at the $100 threshold or not.

Sales and other activity will stop on May 1, 2023 (14 years to the day since we launched!) Some more details in this news post:

devot:ee was never meant to be a marketplace. It was intended to be an informational catalog of add-ons. So, shoutout to @brandonkelly who first suggested it and offered to be an early adopter by selling his "Playa" add-on.

Re: shutting down in 2023 (4/4) We may overlook some aspect of site usage or data that is important - so we're open to suggestions on how to make this as non-disruptive as possible! Email if you have questions or thoughts!

Re: shutting down in 2023 (3/4) devot:ee will probably go into archive or read-only mode, rather than disappearing altogether, but interactions (ratings, forums) and sales will stop (and so will the 1000's of spammers hitting those forums and forms every day😅)

Re: shutting down in 2023 (2/4) Devs that used the forums for support will need time to switch to something else, and move their add-on sales elsewhere. Users will want to have access, somehow, to add-on downloads, and to know they can get support from the devs.

Re: shutting down in 2023 (1/4) Not 100% sure of the process yet, but one doesn't just flip a lightswitch and "turn off" a site with hundreds of developer accounts and 10's of thousands of user accounts.

Thanks for 14 years, but it's time: we're shutting down by the end of 2023. - New add-on submissions and registrations have been disabled - Devs will have to find other sales and support channels. We'll email developers with more info.

We’re retiring the https://t.co/ZWaN9GxsMw short URL functionality within the next 30 days. If you’ve been using those short URLs, now would be a good time to switch to the actual URL (or use your own shortener). #eecms
