I have a professor this semester who walks into every class with literally nothing – no computer, no notes, no bag, nothing. He just strolls into class exactly on the dot and goes up to the board and teaches investment theory for a few hours straight and it's so badass.

Kinda feels like I'm fighting the tool vs. the tool just working in my favor? Something that should take me 2 clicks and 3 seconds to do ends up taking me like 8 clicks and 10 seconds. Part of it could also be that I'm not adjusting and using the tool in ways I maybe should be?.

Totally understand that Stacking defaults (and just defaults in general) can be tricky and require opinionated takes, but as a user I often feel that Framer's defaults are poor in nature and add much more work on my end.

Either stack them horizontally with a gap equal to its original horizontal distance (436px) or stack them vertically with a gap equal to its original vertical distance (138px). Also not sure where Fixed width and height sizes come from but imo Fit Content is a better default.

A slightly more complicated example:. Here we have two Frames randomly placed that have no obvious correlation with one another. When adding a Stack, Framer chooses to stack them horizontally with a fixed width of 700px and gap of 10px. This is a poor default!

If I stack two Frames that are vertically aligned left and 32px from each other, why does adding a Stack completely screw that up?. Pls be smarter and keep the same layout I already have – vertically aligned left and 32px from each other. It takes me 5 clicks (!) to fix this.

3. Stacking Frames. Problem: Stacking (i.e. auto-layout) ends up adding significantly more work for the user because it is unintelligent and has bad defaults. Solution: Make Stacking smarter!.

2. Moving Parent Layers. Problem: Because Framer defaults to selecting a nested layer instead of the Parent Frame, moving Frames is very annoying. The Parent Frame constantly gets left behind. Solution: Same as 1.

1. Selecting Parent Layers. Problem: When clicking on a Frame, I'm brought to a layer within the Frame, not the Parent Frame. This drives me nuts, esp. when trying to stack Frames!. Solution: When clicking on a Frame that has layers nested inside, bring user to Parent Frame.

Been using Framer extensively for months now and while I loveee it, there are a few papercuts that slow me down significantly and make designing feel quite difficult relative to other design tools I'm used to. Pls consider giving these more thought @framer! 🙏🏽💙.

Post-fight MMA interviews are by far the best interviews in all of sports.

I'm sure these systems were stress-tested every which way before being placed where they are (?!), but then imo that should beg the question of how else can *non-disruptive*, immediate pieces of feedback be shown to the user other than conventional toasts.

My biggest design pet peeve rn is when toasts are positioned such that they end up blocking the user from being able to do something they wanna do for a few seconds. Drives me absolutely nuts, esp with Spotify. Move the damn toast system out of my way!

Surely a network of independent chefs selling affordable, homemade meal prep near college campuses has been done before? . Perhaps maybe even taking care of all the things that would otherwise be a headache for them – branding, payments, even buying food containers at scale, etc?.

College students are busy, want to eat healthy, and get sick of repetitive dining hall food after like the second week. College meal plans are also quite expensive, working out to about $17 per dining hall swipe where I'm at.

He's got it down to a science. Selection of 4 meals to choose from per week, is willing to work with special requests on a per-meal basis, provides detailed nutrition facts for every meal. I know the profit margins are slim, but this seems promising?.

There’s this independent chef who lives near campus that cooks healthy meal prep out of his kitchen and I’m convinced he's starting to do more in revenue than the chipotle around the block lol. New customized menu every week, meals are $11 each, pickup only.
