Something cannot be "A" proship. The "pro" doesn't stand for problematic. The pro prefix is positive or "for." i.e. for shipping/anti-censorship/anti-harassment. It's a term that wouldn't need to exist without antis. It's the default stance of most folks when it comes to fiction.

They are not attracted to everything. It's about disliking censorship and not harassing people who write things that make you uncomfortable. And they didn't happen to lit. It was the default until "antis" popped up in online spaces. The first term I know of was just anti-anti.

People infantalize him SO often and reduce Husk into someone whose entire purpose is rescuing and lifting him up - I LOVE (canon) Angel, but part of fandom is working real hard to give me a kneejerk negative reaction to the character.

I use profiction just bc ppl use proship like it's a noun or strictly sexual. A ship can't be "a proship." It's just the idea that censoring fiction is wrong. Imo, it not being nuanced is the point. I'm just extremely uncomfortable with the slippery slope of policing fiction.

I always HATE when this is a controversy. There's no one reason why someone creates fanworks. There's no "missing the point." I feel like I only ever see this sentiment from readers or from popular artists who receive a lot of engagement already.
if you only create in fandom for engagement, then you’re going to have a bad time and have also missed the point of why we create fan works to begin with.
