We are proud to announce that Team 3 from @deferrers were the winners of last week's first ever cross-trust IET Faraday challenge day with their new invention “Tablet Time”. Both the deFerrers teams worked incredibly hard showing resilience and tenacity in their projects.
Today @Granville_alp are hosting the #IETFaradayChallengeDay, with teams from @PingleAcademy and @deferrers. A great day so far with some fantastic ideas being generated by all the teams. #Engineering #FutureEngineers #NextGeneration #STEM @IETeducation

Great afternoon at our local network meeting, attended by technicians from 10 different schools and colleges. Talks on colourimetry and environmental science, sharing of top tips and the fabulous Lucienne from @timstarlab made it a great afternoon of CPD.

Year 9 Chemical changes.
Inspired by @WhTech had a go at the displacement reaction between copper sulfate and zinc metal on a filter paper. Not bad for first two trials. This will go nicely into @deferrersci year 9 lessons on the reactivity series

Some copper chemistry by year 9's. Making a soluble salt resulted in great crystals. Plus Miss Elwell's and Miss Nugent's class were making copper from copper oxide.
