Take Action! Last year, more than 135,000 Americans stood up for the Brooks Range. The Trump administration and Congress are trying to override the will of the American people by allowing the Ambler mining road to move forward. We can't let that happen. https://t.co/kI5eNPnInN

Momentum is on our side. Senate staff have indicated that forcing the Ambler road through reconciliation violates the rules. The Senate trying to pass this budget by July 4th, so the next few days are critical. Tell Congress to block the boondoggle. https://t.co/kI5eNPnInN.

Take Action! Despite widespread national and Tribal opposition, a new Senate provision is attempting to force the Ambler road forward. Tell Congress to STOP this threat to Alaska Native communities, waterways and wildlife. https://t.co/kI5eNPnInN

The Brooks Range and America’s largest intact national park landscape remains roadless. A legislative provision that would have approved the 210-mile Ambler mining road was removed from the House reconciliation bill last week.

The proposed Ambler Road would cut through 11 major rivers and thousands of streams, opening up one of the largest remaining stretches of undeveloped land on Earth to foreign-owned mining exploitation. We are here to stop it. Join our fight. https://t.co/YrqBOVkVT9

In honor of #NationalParkWeek, we’re celebrating America’s largest intact wilderness, covering nearly the entire Western Brooks Range. Thanks to YOU, this 16 million acre landscape of parklands remains roadless.

Each day there are new Executive Orders for mining from the federal government, while the State of Alaska continues to make life easy for international mining companies. But we want to be clear, we stand firm against the proposed Ambler road. And, we’re not alone!

Alaska Native corporations have the authority to deny access through their lands—and they have. 89 Alaska Native Tribes continue to stand firm against the road. Defending the Brooks Range means defending these communities.

“I would spend my whole life fighting this. If I needed to, I would put my life on the line to stop this road. And that’s how a lot of our community feels.” Check out the @SierraClub's latest article, on activists who are fighting the Ambler road. https://t.co/pcgAGdRMGh

The Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act does NOT guarantee Ambler road. In fact, it mandates Tribal consultation and prioritizes subsistence resources when permitting. That’s one reason why the Department of Interior says the Brooks Range isn’t the place for it.

Mining in the Brooks Range is a catastrophic idea, posing dangerous consequences for: ▪️66 subsistence-based Alaska Native communities ▪️2,900 streams, 1,794 acres of wetlands, and 11 rivers ▪️20+ million acres There’s simply too much at stake. Stop Ambler road.

The Brooks Range is one of the worst places in the world to mine, posing a severe risk to the Arctic environment Alaska Native communities. Combine that with the fact that Alaska’s hardrock mining regulations are some of the worst in the nation and it’s a recipe for disaster.

The proposed $1.4 billion Ambler road is yet another Alaska boondoggle, with no guaranteed jobs and no benefit to Alaskans. Any potential ore will be shipped to East Asia and sold back to Americans, not lowering costs here. This costly gamble isn’t worth it!

Companies who want to mine in the Brooks Range have consistently failed to demonstrate that this area contains the minerals that would economically or politically justify the construction of the Ambler road. It will not make our nation safer or the economy richer.
