A conversation with my friend and her son inspired this piece and pushed me to think more broadly about juvenile rights and juvenile justice in the 21st century! Special thanks to @ce_tracey and the folks at @ThePublicSquare Check it out! 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

The truce over interstate abortion fights is over. TX has sued a NY doctor for mailing pills into the state; NY has a shield law that allows physicians to sue anyone who sues them in this way. What will it mean to say for the GOP to say abortion should be left to the states now?

Honored to have co-authored this article with my brilliant friends @daysid and Stephanie Torres on the harmful representations of migrant youth dating back to the mid-1960s. It’s Open Access @CandS_Journal below ⬇️

Migrant children at the US–Mexico border has prompted debates about how to handle their admission and manage their resources access. Read @daysid et al.'s work to know the binary representations of child migrants in the US and how they harm young migrants. https://t.co/p9t5NR9U2S

From Watergate to Jan 6, lawyers have played roles in efforts to undermine democracy. Check out @TempleLaw Prof. @Rachel_E_Lopez’s piece reflecting on why law schools produce lawyers willing to thwart democracy, at times using their law licenses to do so:

Some immediate steps I believe that all trans people should take: - Get your passport. Today. It takes time to come in and this will likely be shut down under Trump. - Update every ID your state allows you to. - Make sure you have a supply of medication in case of disruption

I teach students to use the law to fight for whatever it is they care about. But today’s lesson: Warriors need armor. Armor comes from your heart, & it’s fueled by ancestors, family, friends, & those fighting beside you. Today’s hugs are powerful. It’s you armoring up.
