yikes. i know many folks see Crenshaw do this + say “see, intersectionality is liberalism!” but it’s so important to remember that Black queer feminists like the Combahee River Collective brought us the analysis of interlocking systems of oppression before Crenshaw gave us a term

The focus on same sex marriage is interesting. The new Family Code also includes protections of children rights, non-traditional family formations, and protections for the elderly. Much more comprehensive than @CNN ’s headline would lead one to believe. #CodigoS í

Cuba has legalized same-sex marriage after Cubans voted in favor of a family code that extends greater protection to women, children and the elderly. It now will allow LGBTQ couples to marry and adopt children.
