Personally, I’ll add that, until ODMH fixes the problem with fulfilling pended payments for serving the uninsured, the CCBHC model will continue to suffer from ODMH’s lack of financial stability over the past years — which ultimately hurts patients and staff.

Our state employees, particularly in the field of MH care, deserve transparency and a plan they can prepare for as their lives change at the whim of the Executive Branch. Most importantly, patients deserve quality care that is uninterrupted by bureaucratically initiated changes.

In my past conversations with the current Interim Director, he assured me that, in the event of any potential changes, frontline staff would be prioritized. My hope is his statement proves accurate in this case.

To my knowledge, proposals can only be submitted by private CCBHCs who are nonprofit providers in Medicaid and supported by the federal agency SAMHSA. This particular RFP is a short, 30-day process which drives much speculation and concern.
