First, I turned to @resy Francophiles in residence @jbonne + Noëmie Carrant to ask: Why is New York So Obsessed with French Restaurants? (Some hints: Natural wines. Bistronomy. The return of travel. A collective desire to be diagnosed with gout. j/k sorta)

Have you noticed more French (and French-ish) restaurants (and wine bars! so many of them) in NY lately? We have, too. NY's love affair with French restaurants is long-standing and only getting stronger. So, we decided to write about it.

No hyphen for Asian American, African American and other dual-heritage terms. When possible, refer to a person’s country of origin or follow the person’s preference. Such as: Filipino American or Indian American. RIP and thank you, Henry Fuhrmann @latimes.
