I’d like to think that this is ‘one off’; a freak result. But my instinct tells me otherwise. I fear that there will be a week in 2025 when, for the first time, there are will be no British artists in the UK’s own Top 40. They deserve better.

New British talent IS here in an abundance. But it seems to me that it’s not cutting through to the UK’s ultimate ‘shop window’ unless/until it becomes successful in other territories. (one more!)

Why is British music vanishing... from the UK’s own chart? Throughout this year I’ve looked at the UK Singles chart with dismay. With very few exceptions, new British artists are not making it into this esteemed listing. (continues)
