What a fun article! Does anyone else see parallels to the Elminster in this article, to Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3?! In the game, they made Elminster a bumbling (but incredibly powerful) idiot. Gale felt fresh, while Elminster bore the weight of a tired trope.
