We nominated Linda and John Brown of L & J Farm in Harrington for a @USPOULTRY1947 Family Farm Environmental Excellence Award. And... they won, as the top state association nominee! They celebrated at @IPPEexpo in Atlanta with DCA's Holly Porter. Congrats, John and Linda!

Holly here, in Atlanta for the International Production & Processing Expo along with, seems like, half the world's chicken community! I was glad to see Delmarva's broiler-birthplace history represented at the show, and I'm taking in everything I can on the expo floor.

There's no farm like a snow farm. Sure, it's a cold, wet day for Delmarva's chicken growers, but the chickens don't even know it's snowing in their well-heated houses. And growers will work all day and into the night making sure their equipment is in good shape.

You can always count on DCA members to be out in front on legislative issues, illuminating how chicken goes from farm to shelf to table. Today, DCA member Mary Lou Brown (center right) testified at an ag briefing for the House Environment and Transportation Committee.

Being in the rooms and hearings where policy shifts happen is how DCA advocates for our members in state legislatures. Government affairs manager Grayson Middleton is doing just that as lawmakers convene in Annapolis, Dover and Richmond so the #chickencommunity is represented.
