As a team, we observed that although this week is a Special School Holiday, learners in all grades from the high schools in the district continue to attend school for curriculum coverage. We were impressed by the dedication of the learners and teachers.

Our support and monitoring programme covered Ngaka Modiri Molema district in the North West yesterday, which is the second biggest district in the province. In the 2024 National Senior Certificate results, the district received position 49 out of 75 districts.

We continue our monitoring of learner support programmes across the country. I’ve concluded a meeting with Ngaka Modiri Molema district management team in the North West. They have demonstrated great dedication to ensuring learners do well.

On Early Childhood Development: an additional R10 billion over the medium term is allocated to increase the subsidy to R24 per day per child. The extra funding will also support increased access to ECD for approximately 700 000 more children, up to the age of four years old. -
