This was taken last night about 6:30. We ended up with 1.70” of rain, most of that came in a 15-minute time period.

65 mph crop scouting trip eastern NE to central NE along US 34 & 30. Corn is 95% good to excellent. Flag leaf to brown silk.

Ridging (hilling, laying by, or whatever you call it) corn. It was go today or forget it. Doesn’t matter how wet the ground is. Used to have to ridge all the corn for gravity irrigation, now only 1/4.

It’s a little wet, alright quite wet, but out here y-dropping some N on these fast growing plants. I need to ridge them for gravity irrigation. Maybe Saturday, hopefully it’s dry enough. I’ll be gone Sunday and Monday and Tuesday will be too late.

Tomorrow is the day! Join us for an Irrigation and Nitrogen Efficiency Field Day at our farm. I’m still hopeful the rain won’t start until noon so we can meet in the field. But we use my shop if necessary. Cinnamon rolls and doughnuts and coffee at 8:45! @SentinelFert

I remember that night as the weather alert kept going off with all the tornadoes.

We visited the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium. The locals treat this cemetery with such reverence and honor. These are mostly airmen that were shot down in WWII. Nearby is another American Cemetery where every grave is adopted by a family to take care of.

Pulled up to our Airbnb at Estes Park and he was there to greet us.
