I am helping develop a Farm Mental Health Retreat, I am looking for someone who would help with some sessions. The sessions need to be Christian based as this is at and funded by a Christian Camp.

Yes this is a high school band, 250 strong. We have great band instructors and a tradition that only band kids are cool.

High moisture corn is off so time to drill some cover crops, Green Cover’s pre-bean mix, and hope it will germinate with the nice weather. This field is planned for soybeans next year and the cover crop will help with weed control next year.

Since the combine showed up to start picking my corn, it’s time to get my @mygyguru probe out of the field.

Cleaned out one of my pickups, I found 8, yes eight, pairs of leather gloves under the back seat. Guess I was ready for anything. 😀

We have to do better with our resources. Gov Pillen’s Taskforce on Water Quality and Quantity is looking at a number of recommendations to reduce nitrates in ground water. Sensor based nitrogen application should be in everyone’s toolbox.

High nitrates are a major concern for Nebraska's groundwater as a result of fertilizer leaching into the soil. Now Nebraska Extension folks from various disciplines are united in their message to farmers: no fall application. https://t.co/KZP1gCAXPe

True strength is knowing when to ask for help. Praying for Izzy and others going through mental health issues. I’ve been there and it can be a battle.

Check out this new drip irrigation technology. We will have the system running during the field day so you can see how it works

If you want to closely manage your nitrogen fertilizer with little risk, check out Sentinel Ag. It just works, year after year.

Today was a tough day. I was a pall bearer for a friend and former employee. Kenny worked for us for “only” 39 years. Cancer sucks!

And it’s raining, again. Is this what Iowa is like, an inch+ every week?

This was taken last night about 6:30. We ended up with 1.70” of rain, most of that came in a 15-minute time period.

Ridging (hilling, laying by, or whatever you call it) corn. It was go today or forget it. Doesn’t matter how wet the ground is. Used to have to ridge all the corn for gravity irrigation, now only 1/4.
