For that reason, the solution cannot be to pay hobbyists to maintain ad eternum some project they worked on in the past for fun and have since lost interest in. You cannot simply transform hobbyists hacking out of passion into obedient corporate workers by throwing money at them.

Is there any precedent for @reactjsSSR where the JS that gets delivered-mount-hydrated only includes interactive portions of the page (instead of everything that was already in HTML)? For pages with lots of content, few buttons. (@kylemathews I wonder if you've look into this?)

Protip: If you’re going to start a question with “Why don’t you/they just” — stop yourself. You don’t know the complexity and nuances of other people’s work. Do not start by presuming there’s a simple solution and they’ve been waiting for you to suggest it and save them.

Why is it that every state management library for @reactjs uses Context — instead of a state independent of the tree but injectable into it? What is the design advantage to tying shared state into the React tree? (redux is independent, but react-redux ties state into the tree.)

Just published v5 of cosmiconfig. Revamped the API in an effort to make searching and parsing as flexible & customizable as possible. It was an interesting API-design problem — hope the solution works out.

On my mind because I'm considering a refactor and API change to cosmiconfig based on that principle:

Closes #112. Not quite finished yet, though. The principle motivating these changes is that every function (public and internal) should be either sync or async. So the bulk of the refactoring is to...

🤔 Is it universally considered superior JS code design to have *separate* async and sync functions, rather than single fns with "sync: boolean" args/options? Precedent suggests "Yes!" but I'm having trouble finding articulated statements/arguments (besides those in my own head)

I new very useful tool for @Browserslist. To downlload your browsers statistics from Google Analytics and use `> 1% from my stats` in @Autoprefixer
The new browserslist-ga tool from @dmfrancisco will download your website browserslist statistics to use it in `> 0.5% in my stats` query in @Autoprefixer, @babeljs, and other Browserslist’s tools. https://t.co/k0usLkdAGD

Does anybody advocate a live-reloading dev server npm package? Ideally one that offers a server.reload() method, so I can manually trigger the reload instead of relying on file watching. And more minimal than browser-sync, I guess.

Q for people into CSS-in-JS and bundling styles with components: How do you deal with element resets or normalization? Each component must assume some reset or lack-of-reset in the parent page's CSS?

9.0 is out! It adds experimental support for (whitespace-based) Sass syntax, a `--max-warnings` CLI flag, four new rules and a few new options. Node@6+ is now needed to run stylelint
