One of my favourite model photographs from the whole of my book, Ramsgate International Hoverport, made by Thorp in 1967 for the architects Barnard, Morris, Evans and Partners. The future of transport looked so bright in miniature in the 1960s!

Sticking with cars from yesterday's post, this model from chapter 6 of my book Model Britain is of T.P. Bennett's unbuilt proposal for Toddington motorway services. Made by Thorp in 1961 as the first service area was under consideration.

This lovely model from Chapter 6 of my book Model Britain was made by Thorp in 1938 to illustrate the Churchill Ten Minute Service garage layout, a vision of the future of automotive repairs as the age of the motor car started to take off.

The final chapter of my book Model Britain looks at visions of the future of transportation from the 20th C, so today's model is one made by Thorp for the BRF stand at the 1955 Earl's Court Motor Show that showcased their push for urban motorways.

This lovely model from chapter 2 of my book Model Britain is of a pair of Cornish Unit prefab homes. This model was made by Thorp to be presented to Princess Elizabeth in 1947 when she opened the homes in Bray Shop in Cornwall.
