There is a reason ISP providers are paying $$$$ for tier 2 access to the CBRS spectrum. Why would you pay for it if tier 3 (GAA) worked just as good?

Not a single ISP that has to promise certain speeds will use the GAA tier.

The problem is b/c broadband is complicated, most people (certainly school districts) don't know all of the positives and negatives of all of the options.

CBRS is still a long way from being a viable long term solution. I'm sure the reference here is to Tier 3 access. Might be a gap fix, and an expensive one at that. https://t.co/5U91x7I9Ip

.@EctorCountyISD has done great work for students and educators throughout the pandemic & is part of the SpaceX pilot program to increase broadband access. Great to meet with CTO Kellie Wilks last week about education technology policy priorities for the Texas K-12 CTO Council.

Learning is not a competition, and grades should reflect comprehension and preparation for next set of challenges. Rank ordering students by deadline compliance rarely correlates with achievement. Competencies do not map to a normalized grade curve.
I had an intense conversation with a colleague about grading. I don’t give 0s or penalize late work, and I give 2nd chances. Their argument was it is not fair to other students who turn their work in on time, and I am not preparing them for the workforce. I need backup. Anybody??

Hey congress, we still need broadband access for all. Read this West #Texas case study as an example of typical rural and suburban gaps https://t.co/s52xR0XSll via @Getting_Smart @EctorCountyISD @davidirwin

I still vividly recall my first trip to the supermarket when quarantining started in early March. I was freaked out. It was before masks were mandatory and health officials didn’t

As an educational leader, you must act. And, when you act, there are times when you are going to fail. If you're afraid of failing, you won't get very far, nothing changes, and children suffer. Fear tomorrow if you don’t act today. Children have one time in school. Be the light.
