Happy Veteran’s Day! What’s a military Veteran? Is a person no longer in the military but at one time was on active duty at the national level serving the country and left military service with an honorable discharge. Just over 5% of us now, 10 years ago was 11% of US citizens.

Bringing my golf clubs in the house to watch the final round of the Masters with me so they know how they should be playing for me.

In grade school always enjoyed the giving out & receiving of Valentine’s cards & heart candy with my classmates. Getting ready to take off on a plane from Atlanta to see my 2025 Valentine’s Day date for the 40th straight year.

Hey Mom, you’re on the front page of the newspaper! A community can give a person air under their wings at 18 years old in 1956 as well as 69 years later at 87 years old in 2025. Mom got to be 18 years old again during a celebration of the 1956 Carr Creek championship team.

Am saddened by passing of KY’s all-time winningest high school football coach, eastern KY’s Philip Haywood. Will always be grateful to him for writing the following letter in 2018 for my younger brother Joey. The letter says a lot about the high quality of both of them.

Outside the stadium, can recall getting a bunch of free samples of a new flavor of Doritos (i.e., Ranch) that Doritos was starting to launch. Still love the Doritos, don’t love these 2025 ticket prices that are $3000-7000. Watching at home this time.

In 1989, took a wild hair trip with my wife & daughter to the NCAA football championship game, from Ft Huachuca to Tempe. Found great tics from a saint that got us all in for $31. So wild hair trips can work out. Definitely got the military family discount on that one. 🏈😎

Mom & me. We voted. This 3 day early in-person option is awesome. Ups the odds & opportunities to vote. Reduces super long lines & wait times, which is great for the elderly & inpatient. Can vote on a Saturday. Helps overcome a sudden/unplanned event. Happy Halloween @KYSecState

Jonny Quest is my all-time fav cartoon. Like me, was birthed in the 1960s. The science, technology, quality of the story lines and international setting still make it relevant today. My 1st dog was named Bandit. As I’ve aged, have more of a Race Bannon going look now 😏

Happy 4th of July! Ever wonder why we celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks? The tradition dates all the way back to 1777 at Independence Day festivities in Boston and Philadelphia. In Philadelphia, cannons lit up the sky, firing 13 times to represent the 13 original colonies.

Good morning! Been a Celtics fan since I was 5. In your early youth, sometimes you do and don’t pick a good fav team. Even if they do win a championship, it may be a long wait or never before they get another opportunity. It’s been awhile but they finally got another one.

Our grandson Aiden and his Hopkinsville High School teammates won in the regional championship game tonight. They next play in the KY high school sweet 16 state baseball championship next week in Lexington. He’s here with his Mom and our oldest daughter Alissa. Big smiles.

Sporty Girls. 🏀 ⚽️ 🥎 🏐 🎾 We’ve had a lot of family pictures together but didn’t have a recent picture alone, until now, with my all time fav girl’s basketball, softball, soccer and volleyball player. Amanda Jane was also very good at tennis too as is her husband Aaron.

A busy Saturday. Today is the 150th Kentucky Derby where 18 of the 20 horses in it were born in Kentucky. We also use the occasion to celebrate the birthday of our Derby Day daughter Amanda and grandson Rowan. But first, watching Scooby-Doo on the Boomerang Cartoon Network.

“Good moral character is the first essential in a man”. -George Washington. Have always been a big fan of his as a person, military leader & as President. Recently visited his Mount Vernon home. Admire his grit, leadership skills, and love/commitment to his wife & their children.

I already have a great nickname for a UK basketball coach (i.e., Courtside) that is perfect for NCAA basketball Final Four runs going forward. Am already sponsored by Wendy’s and being shown on CBS. 🏀 A free large Frosty for every point we win by for every UK fan.
