@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub This leaves me with a dilemma, because I love both of the Thompson drams. We have a discussion about the age, is this the optimum ageing time? .. we think so. Climate and the nature of the wood influence play their part. This, and that before, are exceptionally lovely.

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub It's a slower interaction with the wood - it's already soaked. We are offered chocolate with it.. that really works! £66. 51.5%

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub Or next two are fun Thompson, New Zealand. It's a lovely colour. Single malt, fully matured in fresh NZ pinot noir cask. This is straight into wine-soaked wood. It isn't dried out, oxidised. One day it holds wine, the next it holds whisky.

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub I still can't fathom the nose.. But around my table there is consensus on the dry cacao and coffee. This is a genuinely different, interesting, drink. The room likes it .. frankly that's a bit of a suprise, because it is weird, but .. fab & interesting!

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub So we are back for part two.. 4th Stork Club, Germany This is unusual. A rye, but not like another I've had. Lightly mashed rye, caramel rye, chocolate rye. German Napoleon oak cask. It's a very savoury dark chocolate, miso, umami, it's dry. Gritty coffee bean. 55% £55

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub £88 This is a really interesting dram. Smokiness a little on the nose, but much less so in the mouth. The finish is medium, fading to a dryness reminiscent of corn cakes. There may be a little dark chocolate like bitterness and smoothness also.

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub 3rd.. Westland, Seattle Barley, single malt. This is slightly peaty. Local pear bog! .. very different flora to Islay, so a different more herbaceous peat. This is the first cask they've ever sold of spirit from local Washington peat. Decadent Creamy. Peanut Butter. Toast.

@SMWSUK @MCRWhiskyClub Cotswolds seems to shine through, with twist. it's lovely £48 Make up may change over time, but the youngest in this is 4-5yrs but don't discount for it's youth. There's some 8-9 in there also. At the end of the day, it's a beautiful drink. Red fruit. Cream tea.

@AGMNApe Need just one brave person to crash whilst trying to get rid of the ad from the screen and sue Stellantis to high heaven to ensure no ads get displayed in cars again.

Question for networky-twitter: Are there any (consumer) mesh-wifi systems that do multicast properly? In 2025 it really should be possible to have whole-house coverage with seamless roaming between APs & @Sonos working as well.

Today's tester seems to have done a more thorough job, but seems quite confused about headlights. No, there is no "product on lens". So one tester misses things & the other imagines some new ones. 😐
