Birdie Lane sums up perfectly why I love @TheMetalByrds—they love all things rock and roll, from Bryan Adams to Judas Priest and Debbie Harry to The Cramps. The Metal Byrds sound like nobody else thanks their diverse influences.

The final track Blush is an oddly perfect mashup of 80s and 90s alternative, the Police and Siouxsie Sioux meet the Pixies and Nirvana. It's a great way to end it.

While we're exploring influences, why a Nick Cave Irish folk ballad? This one showcases one of the band's best attributes—storytelling. This could be a bonus track on Cave's Murder Ballads.

Final Note has a heavier new wave/punk vibe, complete with fantastic bass work by Mac Jacob. And that riff seems inspired by bands like Agent Orange and TSOL.

OK, I didn't expect to visit KK Downing and Glenn Tipton's influence circa Screaming for Vengeance. The subject matter is something Halford would be proud of. The solo even feels like a dual guitar tradeoff. I absolutely love Valley of the Dog!

Any song called Endless Summer better be fun. ✅ I hear a bit of 80s California punk, maybe it's the sample at the beginning, straight-forward riffs, and chorus. Roll down the windows, crank it up, and share with the neighbors.

Birdie Lane explores the diverse rock influences of The Metal Byrds and I'm curious which spawned The Chase. I can't quite peg it, but it's definitely got a classic hard rock vibe and tremendous drumming. There's even a bit of EVH in some of the guitar parts. Unbeatable chorus.

Next, Good Harbour which is my favorite song of 22. I rarely get into slower, more mellow songs, but the storytelling, harmonies, and mood hit me in the feels like few songs do. Just beautiful.

The album opener Vicious Circle is the quintessential Metal Byrds song - Sly's unique tone, Suzanne's layered, captivating vocals. Simply a great rock song.
