In the early 90s my lovely friend Mark would write to me and do a little drawing on the envelope. This is my favourite. It feels like every week is ‘National Anti-Peace Week’

Hollywood blockbusters such and World War Z and Spider-Man, were made closer to home than you think.

I love that with the snow being general all over Ireland right now it has given lots of people the chance to quote from my favourite ending to anything ever of all time.
“Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead” . #NollaignamBan #Epiphany

Surely there’s a supercut of all the Freddie hotel room inserts out there by now #TheTraitors.

Not seen this film since release (though listened to the soundtrack lots since). At the time I thought the subversive bit was that you would expect Byrne to be subversive and he wasn’t. Fun film but runs out of steam well before the end.
What's disappointing about TRUE STORIES is that Byrne's unconventionality is purely aesthetic. His view has no thrust, no subversion. It's as innocent as something made out of paper dolls. (1986).

Sad to hear about Teri Garr’s passing. Loved seeing one of her best performances on the big screen again earlier this year.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching Scorsese’s After Hours again on the big screen tonight. Teri Garr, Rosanna Arquette and Catherine O’Hara steal the film. Great reissue and thanks to @mac_birmingham for screening it.
