If greed were “human nature,” our species would’ve wiped itself out long before agriculture. Egalitarian societies existed for 99% of human history. The modern dominance instinct is an economic product, not a biological destiny.

Under capitalism, production is organised around whatever is most profitable to capital (largely, foreign capital). Capital prefers to exploit cheap labour in global supply chains rather than invest in technological innovation and industrial upgrades. This inhibits development.

@AgainstAtheismX Atheism is not a dogma, but a response to poorly supported claims. If you live in an area where most of the claims being made are Christian, then those are the claims that will draw response. Weird how Christianity relies on a sense of victimhood, even when ascendant.

no actually what makes me angry is that every single day there are 100s of you jesus simps in my mentions whining and crying that i don’t believe your effing fairy tales as if you’re trying to convince yourselves you’re rude you’re hateful you’re arrogant you’re the worst people
@iamAtheistGirl Usually truth that we don’t want to admit makes us angry. The psyche resists paradigm changes because it’s disruptive. Then as the emotional robot brain takes over it elicits the chemicals to produce anger so you can protect your presuppositions in order to protect your psyche.

@TopherField The scale of theft in Australia is so monstrous that if people truly understood what’s been looted, the French Revolution would look like children playing in the park. Remember we are a TRILLION $$ economy in the body of an anorexic. Why?

"What capital does to labour, and the State to liberty, the Church does to the spirit. This trinity of absolutism is as baneful in practice as it is in philosophy. The most effective means for oppressing the people would be simultaneously to enslave its body, will and reason."

If 45 million people rely on food assistance in the most capitalist country in the world, is that not a failure of capitalism? Isn't a government providing food to exploited workers a little bit socialist? Capitalism doesn't work, failure is built in to the system.

This is our current betrayal, clearly itemised and detailed. A crystallisation of that vague dissatisfaction we're all feeling.

Under capitalism, food is given out on the basis of how profitable it is to do so. People are coerced into selling their labour to a capitalist for a wage that will never match the value the labour produced in the first place. In this exploitative system, survival is resistance.

The cure to propaganda is not fact-checking. This treats misinformation as discreet pieces of information, but ajitprop stems from an entire world view. Nobody leaves their world view until they're invited into yours. The antidote to propaganda is connection and solidarity.

There's nothing you can do to change the mind of a propaganda programmed zealot with no critical thinking ability. The conclusion never shifts, the evidence just gets shuffled around to justify their political evangelism. Sadly predictable.

If we're moving towards a cashless society, why aren't we also a bankless society?

Five fingers on the invisible hand of capitalism; patriarchy, religion, racism, colonialism and propaganda all use fear and violence as tools of coercion and control to exploit the masses. Solidarity is as much an act of psychological freedom as an act of physical fellowship.
