it’s great to see that most of the major coding agents now have associated SDKs • claude code • codex • ampcode • opencode still waiting on cursor + gemini cli

extremely based take right here anyone that says “CLIs are better” should try telling an llm to complete a task using a cli that’s not already in the model weights and custom tools arent always an option if ur a company building an integration and don't own the agent layer

I’m still fairly bullish on mcp. I think the big unlock will be when people start loading background agents with them. I realize this is possible rn, but a background agents are still nascent. The local agent with mcp server paradigm does not make sense. The primary benefit of

also thinking this applies to not just competitors it could work for monitoring any other tools your product depends on as they release new features (you want to take advantage of them). for us it was the latest claude code/codex/amp release

sandboxes is the next major infrastructure primitive there’s going to be a couple more too all infra will need to be rethinked with the assumption that state and maintaining that state is a requirement

imagine a coding agent "MAX mode" run 3 agents in parallel on each task, judge results, auto-pick the best one and present to user like @AmpCode but orchestrating agents instead of models

too many mcp servers means ur agent gets confused and calls the wrong tools thats why we made mcp servers opt-in for @tembo you tag in the ones you want explicitly or enable them by default in settings
