Nothing about @StoryProtocol mission has changed. If anything this shows maturity choosing patience, clarity and alignment as the network scales. In markets like this, discipline is a feature, not a weakness. @StoryEngs @StoryProtocol @0xbunny_

Strong protocols don’t rush unlocks to satisfy short-term narratives. They make disciplined decisions that: • reduce unnecessary volatility • protect long-term holders • align incentives across the ecosystem That’s what this update reflects.

Why do this now? Because Story is still in the phase where: • product-market fit is forming • new IP + AI use cases are accelerating • real revenue and utility are becoming clearer Delaying unlocks gives the network room to mature before major supply events.

Importantly, this isn’t a cosmetic update. The revised lockup is enforced through neutral automated smart contracts. Legal obligations remain binding. No entity gains custody or control over tokens. It’s structured, compliant and consistent.

This move also builds on recent tokenomic changes (SIP-00009 & SIP-00010): • Lower emissions from locked staking • Better access to staking for everyday holders • More disciplined issuance overall Together these changes favor sustainability over short-term rewards.

The strongest signal here is alignment. The team, investors and insiders are all choosing to wait together. That’s a voluntary decision to delay liquidity in favor of long-term confidence and execution. In today’s market, that’s not common.

This matters because unlocks often create short-term pressure that has little to do with real network health. By slowing supply expansion, incentives stay more closely tied to: • actual usage • staking participation • builders and ecosystem growth not speculation.

What is changing is the pace at which new supply can enter the market. For the next six months, no additional liquidity from locked tokens will hit circulation. That reduces uncertainty around a known supply event during a critical growth phase.

The update is straightforward: All locked $IP tokens (team, investors, insiders) will unlock 6 months later than planned. • Original: Feb 13, 2026 • New: Aug 13, 2026 No change to total supply. No change to allocations. No change to vesting terms or ownership.

Token unlocks are rarely about fundamentals. They are about timing, trust and how aligned a team really is with its community. Story’s decision to delay the $IP unlock by six months deserves a closer look.
