The telephone icon isn't outdated, it is the opposite. It's ingrained in culture now, just like the floppy disk icon to save a file. Icons can have semantic meaning, like the biohazard sign, even though it doesn't resemble anything "real".
I think it's time Apple changed the Phone app icon to a real phone.

best part for me about taking a course is when i start adding new features the instructor didn’t include and breaking things. the instructor added basic jwt auth, and i added google oauth. i created new database migrations and made everything work.
