For the record - the @WestHam FAB - every single member worked so hard to make this happen. Club and supporter representatives together. And we did it for every single West Ham fan. United We Stand.

Enjoyed that despite the result. A threadbare squad competed throughout and on another day with another referee would have got something out of that. ‘Graham Potter’s claret and blue army’ the end too 😍⚒️

Great point for West Ham and a fantastic second half performance. Imagine what Potter might be able to do with actual attackers and centre backs 😂

And so it's come to pass. A return to a structure where the role responsible for a long-term strategy (recruitment) effectively answers to a short term appointment (the manager), and the owner does whatever he wants regardless. West Ham are *so* back! #becarefulwhatyouwishfor

Whatever your views on Steidten, he checked and balanced Sullivan, and was a move away from the expensive boom-and-bust cycles centred around individual managers. No matter how good Mcaulay might be, him replacing Tim would be a return to that outmoded and inefficient structure

The propaganda onslaught against Tim Steidten from the actual club is to be expected, but it’s astonishing. We bought some great potential and yet hired a manager with very little actual winning experience. A manager Steidten argued against. Now it’s all Steidten’s fault.

Now we're getting somewhere: Guilherme's signing directly attributed to failing to sign Duran in the summer. Call my a cynic but this is smacks of Sullivan laying the groundwork for Steidten's now inevitable departure ("It was all the German's fault we ain't got no striker!").

West Ham were offered Jhon Duran for £35m up front last summer but decided against the deal after spending £19.5m up front for Luis Guilherme plus another £6m of potential add-ons. Find it difficult to believe we have now submitted an offer worth £57m for Duran🤔

Irked by the narrative Fulham 'gifted' us goals - we forced those 'ridiculous' errors. You can clearly see the press being triggered, and Alvarez causing Pereira's pass. Would be hailed as brilliant tactics if eg Liverpool did it. Also, Soler's first-time finish is incredible.

Ridiculous bid for Duran destined to fail Ridiculous attempt to sign Rashford on loan Linked with a French striker accused of beating up a woman and expelled from school for sexual misconduct Tell me David Sullivan is back in charge of transfers without telling me… etc etc

Tbf, Dec’s use of the double negative suggests he *does* want to have a career where he wins nothing, so it all makes sense now

Didn’t get the result but lots of other positives. Great first 60 minutes, derailed by injuries, lack of fitness, awful refereeing, and a decent level of opposition. Absolutely thrilled to see Scarles grab his chance with both hands. Onwards and upwards ⚒️

Irrationally excited to be going to Villa Park tonight. Obviously Potter has had no time to affect anything, but it feels like a sense of optimism has returned to West Ham that has been missing for months. Not really expecting a result, but am hoping it's the start of a wild ride

@SamWallaceTel Moyes' recent success increasingly looks to have been in spite of Sullivan rather than because of him. And ofc he wants to make money from the club - he's not an idiot. But Sullivan has also spent an inordinate amount since taking over. He's just spent it extremely badly.

My learned colleague @SamWallaceTel telling it like it is. FWIW, I believe Sullivan's intentions are largely good. I think he wants West Ham to succeed, and more importantly wants to be seen as the man to bring that success. Problem is he just doesn't know how to do it...

Sorry @GuillemBalague but I went to 15 of his 20 league games and enjoyed about an hour in total. Admittedly I wasn’t at Newcastle, but for the vast majority of the others I couldn’t detect any style at all. And the players largely looked like they had no clue either 🤷‍♂️

Interesting and illuminating interview with Graham Potter by @Matt_Law_DT from September last year. This has the potential to be a really positive long-term appointment for West Ham (with the usual caveats about the people actually running the club). https://t.co/h1vwDHhg7y

Always hoped that Lopetegui would turn things around but this is the right decision for the football club following a period where the team has looked tactically disorganised, physically slow and generally poorly adapted to the competitiveness and intensity of the Premier League.

I don't care for Lopetegui as West Ham manager but enough of the undermining and planted leaks to favoured media outlets. It is unprofessional and wrong. No one can succeed under that kind of "management" and just another example of an owner who lacks basic leadership skills.
